Jeff Ryan’s Mobile Home (Bangor Daily News)

Things like a triple homicide just don’t happen in Amity…

The small town in Maine is a Canadian border town with just 230 residents where truly “everyone knows everyone”—despite the fact that the closest neighbor was at least a mile away through thick woods.  It was a town where people still slept with their doors unlocked, like simpler times in America’s past.

But on June 22nd, 2010, everything changed when an outsider took the lives of three innocent people: a father, Jeff Ryan, his best friend, Jason Dehahn, and his 10-year-old son, Jesse Ryan. They were all stabbed to death at Jeff’s mobile home with seemingly no motive at all.

The search for the killer brings police to 20-year-old Thayne Ormsby, a smooth talking drifter who’d only been in town for three weeks. Why would somebody murder three people like that? And who could be co cruel as to take the life of an innocent child?

Thayne’s charm and chameleon-like personality may have been enough to get him through to this point in his still young life, but it’s not enough for him to slip by detectives, and they hunt him down in New Hampshire to find out exactly what happened that night.

This is the story of how Amity lost its innocence to an outsider, and how three innocent people lost their lives... A triple homicide that shook the trust of the residents of Amity, and made them question just exactly who was living with them.
